A simple definition of hiking would be to take a walk and then to trust your senses, but being respectful with the environment. Halfway between sport, walk and journey, hiking is such a popular outdoor activity that has gained more followers, in the last fifty years of the end of the millennium, after combining the direct contact with nature and the practice of mountaineering – it can also include an exercise as intense as desired by the one who practices it. Initially, hiking demands neither an excessive training nor an annoying or long journey to the place where to practice it: a tour around mounts and nearby forests, or to spend a weekend by walking in natural environments and discovering nature are quite enough for the novices.

The Spanish people live better than the ones who lived there in the first half of the 20th century, but they are still far from the levels reached by the great majority of the industrialized countries. On one hand, Spain is considered to be at the forefront of working hours a year in Europe. On the other hand, in terms of working days only a 13 % has been reduced in the last 60 years, when the average of the industrialized countries reaches a 25 %.

The average Spanish worker is a low-wage earner if compared to the ones from the UK, according to the information provided by Adecco, the temporary work group, which places the Spanish wage in a 20% below the community average. The document, which was elaborated by means of figures provided by Eurostat, the European statistical office, estimates the Spanish remuneration at 21.500 gross euros a year in 2008.

Madrid is the capital and the biggest city from Spain. It is in the Iberian Peninsula. The city is famous due to its museums, historic monuments, and the active life such as the coffee shops in the street. Madrid is the administrative, financial and of principal transportation center from Spain. The transport in Madrid is very easy thanks to its wide and effective transport system. During the last ten years the means of transport have improved to a great extent in Madrid, and it has caused a better transport in Madrid for tourists and visitors.

Fuerteventura is the second largest island of the Canaries, having 100 kilometers long and 25 kilometer wide, which was declared Biosphere Reserve by the UNESCO in May, 2009. We are dealing with the most pristine and deserted island of the archipelago, as well as the most arid and driest one, but having, after all, a coastline where the most beautiful beaches and waves all over Europe can be found.
