Spanish mediterranean sea

The south eastern Spanish coastline is bathed by the waters of the Mediterranean Sea. There we find a lot of cities by the sea, many of them happen to be bustling villages with lots of visitors arriving every year. There are many zones in this coastline: Costa Brava, Costa Dorada, Costa del Azahar, Costa de Valencia, Costa Blanca and Costa Cálida. In any of these spots we can have cheap holidays and get an attractive suntanned in the summer.

Among the numerous cities that have its coastline in the Mediterranean Sea we have Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante, Gerona, Lloret de Mar, Sirges, Murcia, and others. So, there are many resorts available by the sea to receive tourists any time in the year because of the good weather of this region. Try a paella, the typical meal in Valencia, or the Faves a la catalana in Barcelona.

The cuisine from this region is very well known for its use of seafood. The Mediterranean cuisine is known to be one of the most balanced diets and in this coastline we can easily try it in the restaurant menus. The olive oil is one very important ingredient for this diet. But the possibility of having cheap holidays in this zone of Spain is not the only thing that makes this coastline attractive, its unique scenic views and natural landscapes, inside natural parks specially, are worth a visit.

Barcelona is well known because it is one of the most cultural mixing cities inside Spain, we can see the Gaudi’s architectural master pieces around the city, from the Parc Guell to the non-finished cathedral called Sagrada Familia. In addition, in this Mediterranean coastline we also find Valencia, very well known city for its yearly festival Las Fallas. This coastal city welcomes lots of visitors because of the diverse events held each year.

Alicante offers a special beach environment, this region is known popularly as the Costa Blanca, it has got three beaches namely: San Juan Playa, Explanada de España and Saladares. On the other hand, Gerona is a city where we find a multicultural tradition: Christian, Jewish and Muslim. In its historic centre we can see the remains of each one from the past centuries.

Along the Mediterranean coastline there are plenty of destinations we can visit. By car hiring we can easily move from one place to another as freely as we desire. In our next summer holidays this Spanish region is a spot to take into account.
