The Salamanca city is located in the region known as Castilla y León to the northwest of Madrid. It is one of the most beautiful cities of Spain, where buildings seem to shine.
The local sandstone was used, during a great part of the 13th century, for building the churches and historical mansions, and seems to turn into gold by the moment when the sun sets.
The old part from Salamanca is in very good conditions and it is also provided with the biggest concentration of plateresque architecture of the world. The city receives thousands of tourists every year, not only for its tourist resorts but also for the local cuisine, which is a well-known bastion especially for the ones that have already visited the city. The Main Square
The Main Porch-lined Square of Salamanca is one of the most beautiful ones all over Spain. Its construction works began in 1729 by Alberto Churriguera and it took 25 years for the building to be complete. This place is ideal to get soaked in the local atmosphere and to go for a drink or a cup of coffee with our friends.
The Ancient University
It was founded in 1254 by King Alfonso X the Wise, and the building that we can see nowadays was erected in 1435.
